Athletic Orthopedics & Knee Center and the Athletic Orthopedic Research Foundation have sponsored Athletic Trainer, Meghan McKay, for the FIL World Lacrosse Championships held this July in Denver, CO. Meghan will be working with the Wales Men′s National Lacrosse Team for the second time. She worked with the squad for Worlds in Manchester, 2010.
Wales Lacrosse has strengthened its support team for the World Championships in Denver by appointing Meghan McKay as the squads Head Athletic Trainer. Meghan McKay currently works at Athletic Orthopedics & Knee Center in Houston, TX as the Athletic Training Outreach Coordinator. Meghan will provide a high level of medical back-up to the team.
"Having the right medical team in place is a crucial part of our tournament plans and we are delighted that Meghan is on board as Head Athletic Trainer" said Wales Head Coach Dan Funnell.
"Meghan has worked with elite athletes and will deliver the knowledge and skills that will be vital throughout our 18 days in Denver. Having great practitioners such as Meghan is like having an extra player on the squad."

I have worked lacrosse at high levels for many years and am happy to bring that experience here to AOKC and our patients."
Meghan worked at Salisbury University, Maryland, and helped the women′s lacrosse team to a National Championship (DIII), 3 NCAA Final Appearances, and 1 NCAA Regional Appearance. Meghan has also worked numerous other sports at the collegiate, high school, and recreational levels. She was the first ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer in Houston and leads the AOKC Concussion Program.
